Yes, it is hard to believe but even though this instrument looks like a prop from a Terry Gilliam film, the sound that comes out of it is actually quite pleasant. The theme song is pretty catchy too.

Yes it is. The tower of sheng is an instrument that does in fact exist. In the video above, the tune was performed by a member of the Taiwanese philharmonic orchestra.

Wikipedia says it does not exist. A Google image search says it does. Perhaps we should have the the two Internet giants square off and see who wins. The winner will determine the existence or the annihilation of the object in question.

Well, a Google search of "Tower of Sheng" (with quotes) provides a whopping 7 results, none of which have anything to do with a musical instrument. An image search shows a few towers, and some images of what appear to be gaming related pictures.

No instruments.

Try doing a Google search for "Sheng Instrument." That should bring up a number of similar images and a Wikipedia article bearing the same name. Tower of sheng was a term used in the video's description.
