The New Chess Thread!
In keeping with the tradition of the now defunct forum that shall never be raised from the dead again, I officially declare the golden age of chess crap to proliferate anew!!
I hereby inaugurate the new age with this attempt at a lame cheap laugh:
Let the oddities and the informative tidbits be brought forth!!

What if Superheroes from alternate comic book universes sat down to play chess? This cartoon may gives us that rare glimpse of two heroic titans going at the game of the ages.

Reminds me of the Great Cock Fight in the Avengers between Iron Man and Captain America.
Re: The New Chess Thread!
Good game. You fended off someone ranked ~300 above you for 30 moves.
Now here's the most important question: why did you lose? (Yes I expect an answer! )

Oh, that's easy enough. I lost track of his Queen while I maneuvered into position for a checkmate. That and I underestimated the effectiveness rook he placed at my 2nd rank on the other side of the board.

Correct. You were perfectly even in that game until you allowed his queen to penetrate. And yes, a rook or queen on the 2nd rank (or 7th, if you're black) is very dangerous!

I'm talking about the shirt. It seems to need better punctuation.

Now I know that this cartoon isn't technically about chess; it's actually more about tactical RPGs. But I feel there are some similarities between the two. After all, haven't we all felt the need to not only to take the pesky knight but cut it into tasty dog treats?

In that chess players poster above, they forgot to include the picture of the chimpanzee who decides to take up the good game of chess. And that crazed monkey, my dear associates, is none other than me.

Well, I actually feel that there's some truth to that cartoon. Think D&D. You can either Fight, or, um, do something else, like, uh, run away. That's pretty much it.
Re: The New Chess Thread!
Hey, how did you manage to wrangle up pictures from my family album?
