I cannot be held to blame if you actually watch this.

I cannot be held to blame if you actually watch this.

I watched it and I enjoyed it for the most part. While most of the jokes were well placed for the era of derision in question (the 1980s), I couldn't get past some of the action sequences that used CG animation since computer animation 30 years ago could never produce stunning results. This removed me out of the action quite a bit. But I enjoyed the film otherwise.

And the Triceracop character should have appeared in the sequel when they tackle 90s movie action tropes. Sure, there were a bunch of bad buddy comedies in the 80s, but they were relatively grounded, only going so far as teaming a cop up with a dog (Turner and Hooch). No, the hyperbolic envelope was pushed farther in the 90s when buddy cops could be dinosaurs (Theodore Rex 1995).

If you want some more of this, the song from the ending credits was made into a music video (sung by Mr. Knight Ryder/Bay Watch man David Hasselhoff). I will confess that I would sell my soul to possess the cobra jacket Mr. Hasselhoff wears during the film.

Such awesomeness packed into such a short music video. I'm pretty sure my life is complete.

As far as the movie, I was truly entertained. Sure there's some CG that wouldn't have been there in the 80's, but that's more due to modern necessity than what the producers might have actually liked to have done.

I've incorporated many of the films quotes into my daily life:

"I'm a cop! From the future!"

"Knock knock."

"Who's there?"

"Knuck... les"

"I'm a cop! From the future!"

Sadly, I'm neither of these things. I suppose I'll never have a chance to bring this quote into the real world unless I roleplay a cop at some point in the future.

(Gravely voice) The future...
