Alien Identification

This thread is to provide visuals for many of the alien species found in the Traveller mythos.

1:  The major races.

There are six major races identified by imperial scholars at the great celestial library of Reference.  To be considered a major race, the species must have developed faster than light drive without outside assistance.

Aside from humans, these include:

The Aslani of the Aslani Hierate.

The Vargr of the Vargr Extents

The mysterious Hivers of the Hive Federation

The scattered worlds of the Droyne

The brutal K'Kree

2: Minor Races: The minor races are all the numerous races elevated to the stars by contact with one of the major races.

Chirpers: genetically similar to Droyne, and often found on the same worlds. They are less intelligent and relatively harmless.

Bwaps: Common throughout the empire from it's earliest days. They are productive and officious.

The mighty even-tempered Virush

The fragile Vegans with uplifted intelligent Dolphins

That's a fine compilation of Traveller creatures you have on this list. Know your aliens!


I think I'll add one: Sir Xenomorph not appearing in this campaign...

The primitive Saurians of the planet Saurus. The once relatively peaceful species has undergone a recent religious revival with the formation of death cults worshiping the "Doom Bringer"

The swamp dwelling Otarri (sometimes called Lungfish) have a pre-industrial society on the planet Faldor.

The highly social Llellewyoly have a highly stratified society. They may travel throughout the Spinward Marches but have a home world on Junidy.

Ebokin are highly conservative and mistrustful of the empire. They seldom leave their home world of Yebab.

The Tashaki of the remote system Retinae are a mystery. A radioactive silicon based life form. Scientists believe all life on the planet is not native to Retinae but was introduced long before the time of the ancients.
