Smooth Mcgroove Sings A Vdeo Game Tune

I don't know if you've heard of Smooth Mcgroove, but he is quite the epitome of one who has entirely too much free time on his hands. Yes, he does in fact record eight different tracks of himself to mimic the sound of an old 8-bit game music chip processor.

Oh, and the guys cat? Hilarious.

I agree. His Youtube videos do tend to go on for a bit, but I enjoy them. He also has a few CDs available on iTunes.

Here we go again with one of my favorite game songs from one of my favorite game franchises of all time. Well, my favorite franchise at least up to the Playstation era in any case.

Here's another classic tune from an equally classic game; the game I like to call the Halo or the Call of Duty franchise back in the day. Here, if you watch carefully, you'll note that Smooth manages to beat his cat's paws to the bass of the tune in question. Enjoy!

Another 8 bit game I never played. I thought Zelda was a top down view? This one is a side view, and looks almost exactly like Mario. Oh yeah: Yay cat!

Yes, Zelda II: The Adventure of Link is considered by many the black sheep of the Legend of Zelda franchise. As noted, it is the only game to adopt a top down map for world travel and two-dimensional side scrolling for action play. Because of this and the odd leveling and magic systems, many rank this title at the bottom of the Zelda title pile. As for me, I actually like this game because it was my first foray into the Zelda series. It wasn't until much later that I picked up a copy of the first game and played it.

Does this latest video from master Mcgroove wax a little epic and, dare we say, possess the panache of a rock music video? Yes, I would say it does.

Again, I wonder what this guy does for a day job. He has pure, raw talent that he has focused into an entertaining musical medium.

Here's one of my personal favorites from the Mega Man series. This was the stage you started on if you played Mega Man 2 because the weapon served well as a backup weapon and against nearly all the robot bosses in the game.

I think that cat should consider getting a job as a conductor.
